Greater Share Appoints Dana K. Bezerra as Chief Executive Officer

London, New York, 19 January 2023: Greater Share, the innovative UK-based initiative that aims to combine philanthropy with private equity, is delighted to announce the appointment of Dana K. Bezerra as Chief Executive Officer. Dana will lead the development of Greater Share’s unique investment model and drive its philanthropic impact.

For more than two decades, Dana has worked with asset owners, philanthropists and NGOs to unite purpose, investment and wealth to help unleash shared value. Prior to joining Greater Share, Dana served as President of the Heron Foundation, having spent nearly 18 years in the organisation. She played a key role in rotating the foundation's entire portfolio to better reflect Heron’s mission, screening 100% of its assets for impact. Dana started her career at Merrill Lynch's Private Banking & Investment Group where she specialised in Philanthropy and Non-profit Management.

Always committed to systems change, Dana has been active in the leadership of several organisations, including two privately held investment firms: CapShift and TILT, as well as Duke University’s Fuqua CASE i3 Advisors and as a frequent guest lecturer at the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia University, and as part of Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative designed to unleash the potential of experienced leaders to help solve society’s most pressing challenges.

Paul Fletcher, Chair of the Board of Greater Share, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dana to the Greater Share Community. She brings a unique blend of experience in the investment industry, the philanthropic world, and the unique intersection of both that will be of huge benefit to our NGOs and investors. Dana is an exceptional leader with an excellent track record of driving business growth, she’s in a clear position to accelerate the momentum that we have achieved at Greater Share.”

Greater Share is an innovative UK-based initiative that aims to combine philanthropy with private equity to generate significant long-term, reliable, repeatable support for NGOs working to close the most important gaps around the world. Advent International, Bain Capital, Cinven, Hg Capital, Lexington Partners, Nautic Partners and Permira are among those already partnering with the enterprise. In October 2022, Greater Share announced an exciting new partnership with Moonfare, the leading digital global private equity investment platform.

NGO partners include the London Early Years Foundation and CAMFED, the Campaign for Female Education (see below for a full list of partner NGOs).
